From old occasions, the god Sastha or Ayyappan has been revered in Kerala. It is accepted that it was Parasurama who brought Sastha and Bhadrakali for the insurance of the land and individuals. Henceforth the presence of various sanctuaries devoted to Sastha and Bhadrakali.
